REI Base Camp Tents

Family Camping Tents

My family loves to pack up at a moments notice and go on car camping trips.  We have everything stowed away in plastic bins ready to toss into our van and leave for mini-vacations.  Every summer, we go on a 3 week car camping trip and visit places like Yellowstone National Park, The Grand Tetons, Grand Canyon, etc.

The 4 Minute Workout

Less than a year ago, it heard about the Peak 8 workout while searching for workout tips at Mercola.com.  What I found literally blew my mind because it was the same workout type of workout that I did while playing high school sports.  All the peak 8 or sometimes called the sprint 8 is intervals.  We did interval training in cross-country, track, basketball, wrestling, and hockey.

Intervals hurt like hell and got us into shape fast.  We had a love hate relationship with this workout.  Take a look at the links below to learn more about the Peak 8.

  3. How To Do The Peak 8
  4. Peak 8 Demo Video With Dr. Mercola
  5. Equipment That I Use For Peak 8
  6. Elliptical Machines For Peak 8

Here is the equipment that I use for my interval training.

My favorite heart rate chronograph watch is the Timex Iron Man. It stays on my person almost 24-7.

When I do run my sprints in the grass, I either run barefoot or in Merrell Trail Gloves.  Barefoot is the way to go if you have an even surface without holes, debris, etc to hurt you.

A good heart rate monitor helps you run up to your target heart rate.  I have no problem getting my heart rate up when doing the Peak 8.

Big Berkey Review

We use the Big  Berkey water filter every day at home because it works.  For just a few pennies a gallon, it makes sense.

The biggest reason why I bought the Big Berkey is because I can get fresh water even if the power goes down.  I will not be waiting in water lines for my drinking water.  I can walk over to a nearby lake and fill it with non-potable water and have fresh drinking water within the hour.
